It has been a long while since I have taken the time to respond to any thread on this forum as they are all a rehash of old topics. But this one has been rather entertaining. VERY ENTERTAINING. So, I will take the time to respond...
First of all, street racing has probably been around as long as there has been a wheel. Grog pulls up next to Blig with his chiseled out customized round thing. Eyeing each other they wait for the appropriate time to push their wheels to the next animal pathway...and thus street racing began.
But in all seriousness, street racing in most areas of the US is illegal (I say most because I do not have the data and/or facts to substantiate using the word "all"; so "most" is as accurate as I am going to get). But it still happens and nothing is going to change it...ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. People will still do things that are against the law or against what is thought to be against the law. It is only when that person injures themselves or others does it really strike home that maybe they should change their thinking process.
Is it wrong? I have my opinions based upon circumstances, ie locations, proximity to traffic, safety of others in the area. Do I do it? No (I respect my property to much and the property of others to much). Do I sometimes take off from a light faster than someone else...yes! Is it considered street racing? Depends upon ones opinion.
Seems to me that there are people on this forum who are very dogmatic in their opinions and beliefs. If this is the case, then those people should attempt to take it off the forum and attempt to do something to cause change in our communities. It is a great deal easier to sit on our butt, behind our monitors and tap away on our keys through these forums, voicing our opinions and beliefs, than it is to get out and affect change in our communities, neighborhoods, and schools.
