anything at a person can be considered an assault on that person.
In many places Assaulting An Officer is considered a crime.
Face it, you got suckered by someone who has a tough job to do: keep traffic moving in front of the terminal.

Maybe the cop didn't intend to lie... but if the cops supervisor came by and saw the 'abandoned' car, she had to write the ticket; or maybe she gave you 60 seconds before she wrote it; Or maybe she was starting to write the moment you turned your back (it is much easier to write the ticket when you are out of the car), after all, she probably has 'productivity goals'.
Basicly, you gambled and lost.
Just be glad they didn't have the bomb squad deal with the 'abandoned vehicle in front of the airport terminal'.
