I can understnad how you guys feel, but not all gas is created equal. Some regular gas is bad, and others worst. The knock sensor on the car is not perfect, and will not catch everything. Some guys have had knocking using premium because of the new plastic manifold and the fact that the car was running too lean afterwards because it was originally tuned for the alumium intake. The PCM had pulled timing, but the knocking was still there so they had to adjust their piggy back to a new a/f ratio. My point? Regular will make your engine knock, even if you can't feel or hear it. Long term detontation will shorten your engine's life. I would feel alot safer if you guys said "use regular and some highly concentrated octane boost", but none of you guys have even mentioned that. So how about you guys go with mid-grade and a cheaper octane boost? It would be closer to premium and alot safer than running just regular.
