Everything I hear about nonmanufacturer warranties is bad. I got Chrysler extended...to 85,000 miles. Figured with the turbo and autostick, I'd need it. The dealer finance guy chuckled, said I would for sure..!
Through my GEICO insurance I got a additonal warranty for 100,000, supposed to cover virtually everything, supposedly even if we do something stupid like pour coffee into our cd player. It's only $5 a month more, but not available on used cars.
Now I know it seems like I'm over insured, but hey, I've used them on other cars. My GM extended on my 99 Malibu paid for itself and more. When I traded in my Tundra, the refund(on the warranty) was about 80% of the origional cost. I get the tire coverage through Discount Tire, zero glass deductible and the max for uninsured motorist(a very wise thing in this part of the country). I wonder if you went to a dealer if they could swing a deal on a genuine Chrysler extended plan?
