VillianPT It's tough to give advice without seeing the problem but I will give you a quick overview from my standpoint. The number one question I get asked in my shop when customers bring in their cars is "Can you remove these scratches?" First thing I do is look at them closely, then I respond in percentages. By that I say, "this one I can improve 65%, that one I can improve 85%, the one down here, I can remove completely". See what I mean. Each scratch is individually different. Rule of thumb is if you can feel it with your finger nail, it's too deep to remove. But with a buffer, you can blend it so it's not as obvious. Plastic is handled differently than metal, it is clear coated or ???? sometimes wet sanding is required which I would NOT suggest you do. YOU can hide the scratches with a product like Meguiars scratch X. Problem is when you wash your car, it will show up again. The only way to ensure you get the best results is by using a high speed buffer. again, something I would not suggest unless you have experience. Assuming you don't have buffing experience you are limited to what you can do. Nothing you can do by hand will remove the marks, only cover them up. Now on the other hand (without seeing them) if they are what I call minor scratches, which means it has not gone through the clear coat, something like my paint cleaner will even it out. you can call me if you need more one on one attention.
