Gonz, everyone that posted has some good advice. Just remember not to saturate your carpet with chemicals unless you own an extractor. Shop vacs will not remove chemicals deep down in the fibers. if you let them lay, mold, mildew and bacteria will go. Use as little as possible when using a shop vac, just mist the carpets. simple green is fine. Take an old rag and rub the carpet afterwards to create friction to promote drying. TIP; for the holiday if you rent one of those steam cleaners, get the stair attachment, NOW YOU HAVE AN EXTRACTOR, GO TO TOWN ON YOUR CAR. [?]
