Shortly before I bought some new tires, I had a tire go flat over-night. I aired it back up and it held fine. Later, when the new tires were being mounted I saw the build up of white corrosion inside the bead of the rim and figured that was the cause.
I cleaned it up before the new tires were mounted and no leaks after 3 months but I'm still holding my breath. Only one wheel had the corrosion problems (so far). I've got the 17", GT, chrome wheels.
