I've always used synthetic and my turbo went out at 45k on my GT. Turns out a small boost look led to its failure and it overspun itself and commited suicide. Basically it was red hot after i looked at it, like glowing.....[xx(] It could not release the exhaust gases fast enough and just burnt up.
