Our local news channel did a piece on these gas saving things last year. The took three different city trucks, all the same configurations and driving routes, and put a different device on each of them. One was the twirly air thing, another was a magnet on the fuel line, and the other was a gas additive that produced more oxygen in the gas mixture.

They had before and after data to show any change...darn if the only one that did something was the magnet. GO figure. However it was an increase of less than 5% over three tanks of gas. I remember them reporting that you had to drive over 25000 miles per year to pay for the thing.

When I want better gas mileage I slow down and touch lightly on the gas peddle.
