My Vette is also in the upper 20's for highway mileage but I put it down to gearing and areodynamics. At 65mph the Vette is only turning 12-1300 RPM, hardly over idle speed and "sipping gas" while my PT is up around 3000 RPM pushing thru the air as Hooligan put it "like a brick".
