The 12 step reform program for mass murderers:

1) Join a gang
2) Be tough and fearsome
3) Kill people, as many as you'd like
4) Avoid getting caught if possible
5) If you get caught and convicted, play the appeals process for 20 or 30 years
6) During those years give the impression you are reformed
7) Remain a tough SOB behind bars
8) Live off the tax payers, make friends and abuse smaller inmates.
9) Write letters all day long until someone buys your story and gets it in the media. You've got nothing better to do 12 hours a day 365 days a year. Let some sucker write childrens books for you as a ghost writer.
10) Maybe even get some anti-death penalty activist to nominate you for Nobel prize (any social studies professor can do it, even Ward Churchill could do it).
11) After 20 years everyone forgets your an SOB and sees you as a loving victim.
12) Get some bleeding heart governor to grant clemency.
