Years ago I had a Plymouth Reliant and when I had an alignment done, they told me it needed a certain thickness shim placed under the upper right bolt holding the bearing to the axel on the right side of the car. They said it was not out by much and they knew I could do the work ( unbolt bearing housing and install shim and re-assemble). Their cost was high because it was a bit time consuming. The cost of the shim was under a dollar.
