If, for example, it would cost more in terms of time, travel costs and wear and tear on our nerves at the local dealer?
IE: I would have to take time off from work to get to the dealer during parts dept. hours, and there is an odds-on chance they 1) never heard of it, and 2) finally admit it is in the parts book, and 3) have to order it.
I, for one, would rather give my money to UPS than to the Oedipus Rexes at my local '5-star' dealership.
