I had to invoke my rights under the Utah Lemon Law for my first pt convertible...although for different reasons, the top and windows wouldn't work and they had my car in the shop for over a month trying everything from troubleshooting to sending a "specialized tech" in from "corporate" to look at it. However, once all the steps had been taken, Chrysler was great to work with and I got all my money back except payments towards the interest on my loan. I applied it towards my new convertible and haven't had any problems except the door lock issue which was repaired within a couple days of diagnosis.
I think a big contributing factor to the ease in which the car was returned and the new one was given to me had was in large part due to the Sales Manager who was very helpful and willing to give me the information I needed to get the process going.
Every state is different, but I'd start there if you haven't already.
