What i usually do is go to circuit city or best buy. They have alot on display. You can listen to speakers and check out different head units that you might be interested in.I bring a peice of paper and a pen and write down part #'s.When i get home i check out circuit city.com and read reviews on the items that i am interested in.Once i make my decision i look on ebay and usually find the items for about half of what circuit city wants. If you can save $50 on a radio that might equal a free set of door speakers. If you do your reasearch you will spend the money once and be happy. As long as you stick with name brands like polk audio, infinity, boston acoustic for speakers.Kenwood ,alpine, high end sony,or a high end pioneer for a head unit you should be fine.Try not to cut corners and buy cheap stuff or you will end up spending money twice.
