Must have been an automatic. They are famous for being slow between 1st and 2nd gears. A lull. The K&N drop in solved that problem on the '01 and the '04.
Yeah, it was an auto, but I'm talking of the initial response - 1st gear.

Mine is an auto, and with the AirAid, it does pick up really well from a standing start. It feels about as nimble as the V6 Firebird I had at the lower speeds. Once I get up to about 45 mph or so, the "Flying Brick" effect occurs and she kinda bogs down. The only thing to fix that is to either get a turbo, or keep her clean and shiny so the air can pass over the car smoothly.
