The "sometimes" is not when dealing with performance. Most techs are useless when it comes to anything but the stock cars they work on. They know the book, they go by the book and unless they are savy and have dealt with performance modding they know nothing. When my '03 GT had a high rpm miss the dealer knew nothing about fixing it. "All GT's do that." I was told. At the time my GT was stock for heaven's sake. When my GT was modded and I took it in I had to explain what the mods did. Some of us "want to be techs" are in the 12's and 13's in the 1/4 so that isn't too shabby. I will agree that, at times, I see novice's give inaccurate info. As for the gentleman whose GT ran bad at .40 (I sure hope you meant .040) you are the very first one to complain about it. Running with plugs at .060 or .064 is larger than even factory stock specs.
