That could be true, less back pressure spooling is better which gives you the same power a little quicker. A 2 1/2" catback exhaust really helps spooling and if you want the best spooling go with a 3" o2 housing, 3" dp w/hiflow cat and a 2 1/2" catback exhaust. Really made a difference on my SRT-4. Some say a full 3" turboback exhaust is better but the dyno has shown no difference in hp with the system I have. I still think the new cool sound has something to do with it. When I had a '01 PT I installed an intake and with the new cool sound I thought the PT was faster. When the homemade intake broke and I went back to the OEM airbox I noticed the only difference there had been was the sound. It's all good though. He has a new cool sounding exhaust with pops and burgles that sounds great.
