had your similar noise on my 25,000 mile '03 gt. thought it was a a bad alt, ps, a/c pulley/bearing, then thought it was a bad catalytic converter. turned out to be the turbocharger. i just got it back from the dealer yesterday - and caught a break - it was a warranty repair. i only had to fork over a $100 warranty deductible.
