Now that you mention it....
In 'Nam I once found a little puppy, small enough that I could tuck it in large pocket of flak jacket. It became like a mascot. One day, bunch of guys went to "sweep" (mine hunt) the road between our post & nearest village & took the dog with them. When they got to the village a truck was waiting, so they hopped a ride and didn't pick up the dog - last I saw of the dog, and I'm sure it became a meal. [xx(]
