With speaker-level inputs, the other possibility is 'overdriving' the input to the basslink and causing safety features to cut in.

Is it wired correctly? Do you have the proper switch settings for speaker level input?

I have seen power amps drop into 'fail-safe' after accidently sending speaker-level output in when the input switch was set to 'preamp-level'.

As for voltage: unless your lights dim with every beat, it's not a battery issue.
If the installers used heavy gauge wire for the battery power feed (if they didn't there is the problem). They should have run a heavy-gauge power wire from the Basslink thru the firewall and straight to the positive battery terminal. As PT Cruiser battery terminals are prone to corrosion (blame the bean-counters at Cheapsler) it might just be voltage drop due to a poor power connection.

If you paid for installation, the install shop should work with you to fix it.
