I took off the modesty cover, cleaned it with soap and water, then dried it. Went and got yellow spray paint from Wal-Mart (auto department...just happened mine's the kind designed for use in engines) and red paint pen and clearcoat. Sprayed a whole bunch of layers onto the modesty cover so it was a smooth yellow (this being after I messed up once). I let it dry, then used a paint pen to trace over the letters in red. Once the yellow paint had cured 5 days, I did the clearcoat over just the red lettering to make it glossy.

I know of 2 ways to do the painting on the intake manifold.

Underneath the intake manifold is another plastic piece that says "DOHC 16 VALVE". If I can get my car together again, I'll take it to the shop and get them to help me remove the intake manifold so I can paint that piece red with yellow lettering.
