I have a 2002 and the power level is fine. Can keep up and pass without much problem. Of course if you want more power and torque, then the 2003 Turbo Cruiser is something to consider, but remember it uses premium gas.
The 2002 PT 0-60mph times are the same as a Mazda 626 EX or Lexus RX300 and faster than a Honda CR-V EX, BMW 318i, Audi A-4, etc. Can compared the acceleration times for yourself here:
