Unfortunately without more information, I would recommend going to a body shop. IMHO, using a claybar and/or detailer spray to remove bird droppings (and most other things, like tree sap, etc)is preferable. Rubbing compound can be destructive to the clearcoat finish "IF" misused or overdone (one can unintentionally remove the clearcoat with rubbing compund if not careful).

If one waxes regularly (at least once a month) and washes their car regularly, using a detailer spray (or even water) to remove (as soon as possible) the bird droppings, will help protect the paint from damage.

My PT is parked outside at home and I have a car cover to protect it from the birds. Only takes a few minutes to put it on or take it off and I carry a bottle of detailer spray and a rag in the car for quick clean ups.
