Thank you all for your responses. I'm glad to see that I'm not alone in this!
Living in Texas, I'm not looking forward to running the vent, as opposed to the AC for more than a few minutes! But if it gets rid of the odor, it's a sacrifice that I'll have to make!
Hopefully the dealership can take care of the problem up to this point, and then my wife and I can do the preventive maintenance of trying to keep it from happening as often!
