How about your windshields? I have 42,000 miles and the windshield has thousands (no kidding) of tiny specks from end to end that do not wipe off. I believe it to be tiny nicks from road debris that has scratched the entire surface of the windshield. And yes, I do have a half dozen or so nicks on the front end and hood.
