Here's the quote I was looking for:
Quote:
quote:I have just went through H@## and so did the roadside service guy and a very nice person at Firestone tire.. I can change a tire, dad taught me this before I could walk.. I though "No Big Deal" when I came out of work today and the right rear tire was flat.. Bust out the jack, spare, and start cranking on the lug caps... All but two come off the others just spin. Well two of them are cross threaded.. It took the roadside service guy and a Firestone guy to destroy them to get them off along with the hubcap. Then the lugs are so tight we can't turn them... Not even standing on them worked, turn to the impact wrench that worked.. But all in all I am wet(did I mention that it was raining too), tired and missing one hubcap.. I will ditch the others tomorrow.. I will not take that chance again...
Thanks for letting me rant...

Here's a helpful reply:

quote:Bosch, the IMPORTANT thing to remember with those crappy hubcaps is that you cannot loosen each of the plastic lugs all the way and then go on to the next one. You MUST only loosen each one a little bit, go to the next and do the same. Keep doing this till all of them are loosened all the way.
