The outlet that is at the lower console it the one that has the Cigar Lighter Icon on the cover. It should be good for 10 amps. To be sure, pull off the cover over the fuse panel (left of and below steering wheel). You can read the legencd on the back of the cover to see the fuse sizes for each circuit. The manual should also have this info.
I think the cigar lighter socket should have more metal mass in the contacts to carry the current while the lighter element is generating heat.
