I took one of those metal loop wrenches and removed the pin from one side, then snaked it around the filter and put the pin back in place. It still took about 5 or 6 hard turns before the filter came off.

Factory filters are paper thin to begin with, so you gotta make sure you dont just twist the filter without twisting the screw.

I use Mobil1 oil along with the Mobil1 filter (M1-209).
