I'll let others answer your question on the spears, but thought I'd show you an alternative. I personally didn't like the "spears" and saw these highly reflective polished stainless steel flat inserts that took the place of the door spears. (I don't think the OEM spears really do any good in stopping door dings anyway). Besides, I love to show off pictures of my cruiser!
