The parade mode doesn't help because only the odometer is brightened, not the IP lites. If you turn off the IP Lites it makes the speedometer easier to read, but not much. There have been discussions about this flaw since 01 model. According to what I've read the IP lamps are not user replaceable so brighter lighting does not seem to be an option. They could be LEDs, but I have never investigated that far.
