Why do you people take the car to the dealer?!! You're just asking to get ripped off.
I have a guy that I take my Malibu too, and hopefully he can wor on my Pt Cruiser too. He'll do a whole engine rebuild+swap for me for $600. When the Malibu's tranny went it he charged about $70 for parts and labor. PArts consisted of a new 1st and 2nd gear, sychros, and some other stuff. Also, he had to search real hard in order to find the parts (they came from all over the USA)
I'm sorry to say, but you must have more money then sense to take your car and pay a dealer to fix it.

Thats it!!! I could probally do all that myself in a couple of hours if you give me the intructions.
