Re: Just passing this along
Time for a visit from Captain Bringdown (who stayed awake in Eco 101).
Theory 1) Don't Buy Gas on Day X.
Alright... so NOBODY buys ANY gas on Day X.
and on Day W and Day Z people have to buy about 50% more gas then usual.
Looks like the amount of gas sold for the week stays the same.
Theory 2) Don't buy Gas from Company X.
Supposed this worked PERFECTLY. Company X never sells another drop of Gas.
Company X goes out of business.
Now there is one less competitor.
Gas prices are where they are because it is a Global Market for a commodity with a limited supply.
The only thing that can drive down the price is sharply reduced demand, as in either a Global Recession (which would generally SUCK.) or if lots of folks found an alternative.
So how about a 'Take Mass Transit' week?
Or a 'Buy a car that gets good mileage' decade?
Or a Grow Up and stop believing in something for nothing century?
