Smile Re: Rear popping noise when braking

I took all your the suggestions to the next 5 star hopeful. They actually took me seriously. They had three different techs drive it and all concluded the noise was in the rear of the car. Then they evaluated the problem by systematically disconnecting the rear shocks, then rear sway bar, no change. Then they got creative. The last hunch was the e-brake; They decided to remove the rotors and turn them to make sure they were perpendicular to the "inner e-brake" mechanism. The theory was a brake pressure / binding issue within the e-brake. For good measure they also swapped the rear pads, left to right, right to left side. I am not sure which actually solved the problem but the noise is gone. At least I now have a responsible dealer to go too....
