Five of the lowest repair cost vehicles are American nameplates
Cost Of Repairs
American nameplates had the lowest cost of repairs. To come up with this rating, The Car Book priced out nine items likely to need repairs in the first 100,000 miles and used those prices to build an index.
All five of the lowest repair cost vehicles are American nameplates: Jeep Wrangler, Chrysler Town and Country, Dodge Grand Caravan, Dodge Ram Pickup and
Chrysler PT Cruiser.
The five most expensive to repair are the Volkswagen Touareg, Jaguar X-Type, Toyota Avalon, Chrysler Crossfire and Mercedes-Benz M-Class. The nine items on the Jeep Wrangler would cost $1,584 compared to $4,011 for the Mercedes-Benz M-Class.
