I bought an '05 GT vert last August and have loved it. I paid $18K for it used so price-wise you did just fine. I prefer the pre '06 / '07 front end so I think you did better on the styling.
Just be careful. Hang around here too long (or the other popular cruiser forum) and you'll likely be bitten by the mod bug. Lots of options to have even more fun. Hopefully putting on Tokico HP blues (shocks / struts) and Mopar lowering springs this weekend.
