For turbo cars the muffler has no chambers at all. Nothing to impede flow. Non turbo cars need "backpressure" They can actually lose power without it. As an example I have a SRT-4 which basically has the same turbo'd engine as the PT GT. The SRT-4 comes stock without a muffler, just two 12" resonators. Sorry, I don't have any numbers for the GT muffler. I did put the GT muffler off of my PT turbo, when I went to a larger (2 1/2" catback exhaust), on my wife's '01 PT. While there was no performance gain the sound was a nice low rumble and not loud at all.
