Default LQQK my new tail light project

hi all - it's been a while - hope all is well.

i'm going to start a new tail light project. it will involve ruining (opps i mean modifying) my current custom tail lights. i'm gonna measure twice and cut once - before using a holesaw. my plan is to insert these '59 cadillac lenses (see attached pic).

question: assuming i can holesaw the existing lenses without destroying them, should i use silicone or a clear epoxy to bond them?
