I'm hoping that someone can give me some advice:
My A/C has stopped working well when I am idle. When I am driving, it seems to work fine. It still works, but not very well at all when I am idle.
At first, I thought it might be low on R-134a. But, before I had it recharged, I searched around and found this forum. It seems that a lot of people are having trouble with the radiator fan, and this was affecting their A/C. However, these people also seemed to be having trouble with overheating. I have never overheated, and I drive straight up a hill everyday on the way to work.
Anyway, I decided to try testing this out, so I turned my A/C on and checked under my hood. The radiator fan was not rotating. Am I correct in assuming that this means that the fan is the problem? When I turned my car off I noticed a hissing noise that slowly faded away. Strange.
If I've understood right, the next step would be to see if the fan or the relay were the culprit. Am I on the right track? I don't know my head from my....well you know....when it comes to automobiles, so any help is appreciated!
