Default Re: Question

In 2003 Chrysler came out with the PT Cruiser GT with the turbocharged 2.4L engine. It had 230hp, and drank premium fuel (recommended by Chrysler).

In 04 Chrysler came out what some call the "turbo lite" which puts out 180hp and used regular 87 octane. The only difference between the 2 turbos is the computer programming, which allows the use of regular gas in the turbo lite. Chrysler chose to call the original turbo version "High Output" (I guess that looked better than calling the other version "low output" )

The Hp numbers are changed now, they redesigned the intake manifold from cast aluminum to plastic which produces about 10 more horsepower, I think.

I believe the PT GT and the SRT 4 motors are pretty much the same, and use the same engine. I'm sure someone will let you know if that's not true.
