No, not a usual problem with turbo or non-turbo engines but "stuff" does happen. I once had a brand new Chevy with a so-called bullet proof "Iron Duke" 4 cylinder engine. They made that engine for years (it was actually a Pontiac engine). At the top of each gear I heard a strange noise so took it back with less than 3K. Next thing I knew they had the engine all over the garage floor and told me that the number 3 piston hole was drilled to large and the piston was slapping around at full throttle. They had never seen it before. New short block for me too. Be glad it happened under warranty.
