I had thought about doing it that way but I didn't want to damage the originals, just in case. Unscrewing plastic is difficult because you don't get that feeling of the screw starting to loosen. It worked, though and the chrome ones look nice. A small but attractive addition that looks appropriate against the slate color interior.
