I'm in the process right now of hunting for a used dolly to tow my PT. But, I did meet a fellow who was doing exactly as you said, neutral, and let it idle. He said he has pulled it for 2 years? I have not done any further research to see if he was in fact, telling the truth about it not hurting the transmission.
