Re: Towing a PT Cruiser
I would make a serious inquiry about the impact on the vehicle computer when it reads road speed and mileage but the engine is in neutral. It may think the system is "bonkers" and try to shut you down. That problem may only happen at destination, when you attempt to drive your PT away. Todays computers are hugely involved in every aspect of running and "monitoring" the vehicle.
A similar event occurred to my father-in-laws flat-towed Oldsmobile a few years ago. Problems started only after he started towing. It had periodic computer "fits" for the rest of its life. It would just turn itself off while driving. Coast to side of road, re-start and drive away just fine. Nobody ever found a cause ... but that was GM, not Chrysler.
