Default Re: Sirius and After market radio..

I just went to a stereo shop yesterday to talk about the same issue with my '03. The stereo shop says that you might be able to do it with an adapter, but usually what they have found was that it was cheaper to install a new Sirius tuner with a new stereo than to get the adapter, and just leave the old tuner in the car disconnected. You then call Sirius and switch your subscription over to the new unit. If you sell the PT, you can keep the new Sirius tuner and stereo, put the old stereo back and leave the factory Sirius unit there.

I don't know if they were just trying to sell me more stuff, but it kind of makes sense. You can get Sirius tuners pretty cheap now, and I know all those adapters are expensive.

Best thing to do is shop around and ask shops who have done this on the PT before.

Good luck.
