Re: trailer hitch wiring
Great success using a T-connector assembly from RedTrailers.com - PWP61041. $50 plus shipping of $10 (actually less shipping as I also ordered an assembly for my 2007 Town and Country). This includes a converter which is powered by 12 volts from the battery and acts as a relay thereby taking minimal power from the lighting circuit to run the trailer lights. We sliced the rubber grommets in the tail-light compartments to keep all wiring inside and put the converter in the compartment with the jack.
The hitch came from JC Whitney - Hidden Hitch for $120 with free shipping!
Altogether a rather successful endeavor for minimal outlay. Hope this helps someone.
