3M has an adhesive remover that comes in spray cans. If they are NOT on any painted surface, B12 Chemtool Carb Cleaner does a good job of lifting (or desolving) about anything. One of those yellow spreaders for body filler makes a good scraper without scratching anything. Depending on what is the width of the strips you're removing , consider looking a some plain black body side moulding of a similiar width. Since it's stick-on too, you may have to replace it again but it's economical.
