Re: general cabin filter question and installation tip
I ordered 2 cabin air filter systems from Wyckoff Chrysler for my wifes 07 n/a, and my 03GT. I was a little upset that they didn't have the mesh cover. The wifes 07 had the filter housing and the mesh cover already, and my GT only had the shroud and no filter housing. I found that Mcmaster-Carr had a carbon filter that can be cut in half to make 2 filters @ $6.73 each. I will use the carbon filter for the next change. Before I had the filter housing I placed an aluminum screen over the square frame and placed a thin foam filter sheet over the mesh, and secured with tie wraps. That worked great for several months at a time and was totally black when I changed it.The fiber glass filter in front and the carbon filter behind should take care of most air polution. The filters are used normally in a hobby spray booth and are 6 inches wide and 18 inches long.
