Lets just say that Chrysler built the feature into the cruiser to not let the engine damage itself by over reving during a no-load activity. Most other manufacturers could care less if you damage the engine as they can probably tell if the damage was done by over reving. The computers these days store information that you'd probably be shocked to learn about.
