I would maybe make a deal with them about an exchange, as long as you haven't had it exposed to a lot o raod salt, or sea spray. Could be they send the core to a shop to be chromed, in order to resell. And, that shop may have not done such a great job.
I would think that they wouldn't want the bad press on the PT sites.
